Hey gang,
I gave Bert a call this morning right as Carmen was going down to get another CAT Scan. There was some concern with her eye movement and the docs wanted to confirm that there wasn't another stroke going on. Thankfully there wasn't. They did however let Bert know that the stroke was a bit more extensive than they had previously thought. Bert said that the stroke happened in different areas of Carmen's brain, but if you took all of those different areas and added them together , it would add up to between a quarter and a third of her brain.

Obviously Bert is staying positive but he is also acknowledging the fact that this may very well be a long road ahead. He wanted to make sure that all of us here in Carmen's Corner were also aware of what lies ahead and what the docs are saying, which essentially is that the stroke did cause some damage. To what extent we don't know yet. Time will tell. Some rehabilitation therapy is in the future. Bert is up for the challenge though and knows that Carmen will be too.
Some positives he mentioned are that she is breathing on her own and there is good brain activity going on. And of course the constant positive in all of this is that this is Carmen we're talking about here. She is our Rockstar after all.
Thanks Bert for the update. We are on board with you brother and are all in it for how ever long it takes. We love you and our prayers are with you and Carmen.
