Good Morning Carmen Fans,

Last night, Carmen had a good night. Some girl friends came over and painted her toes in a nice halloween design. And when they sat around and shared some funny stories about Carmen and her dogs, Carmen laughed! She is doing a lot better with her PT as well. The therapists have been working on her "range of motion" a lot, which is basically her ability to extend her arms and legs. She was also able to keep her head up for quite a while which is great. The scars from the surgery are healing very nicely and she doesn't seem to be in quite as much pain from her jaw. The docs still have her jaw wrapped up with an ace bandage to keep it closed and they figure that will be needed for another 3 days or so. They're hoping the Botox is successful in relaxing the muscles around her jaw enough to allow it to reconnect and stay in place.

One thing that is still on Albert and Jodi's plate is the decision on the Heparin. (If you're a new Carmen Fan, scroll down a few posts to get the details on the Heparin situation) This is a very difficult decision so please says some prayers that Albert and Jodi receive some guidance as to which way to go on this.

All in all though, it's a time to be thankful. Carmen was laughing a lot yesterday, she wasn't in as much pain as she has been and is doing well with PT. These are all great things. Oh! I forgot to mention that her room is also decorated with Halloween stuff everywhere. Alberts dad went and got even more decorations yesterday and she now has a "Welcome" sign on her front door with bats all around it. And guess how many other doors have something like this? Ha! That's right...none! And that goes along perfectly with our Carmecita and her fan club. She has always stood out in a crowd and still does even now.

Keep it up sister.

All our love and then some.

Carmen, 33 years ago you entered this world and I knew as soon as I saw your face you were an angel. I knew you belonged to Jesus but it was an honor and a privilege when he let me be your mom. I'm so proud of you. You have grown into a remarkable woman. You are an exotic beauty but your inner beauty is what captivates people. You are kind, generous, loving, and thoughtful. You have an energy that lights up a room when you walk in and anyone who meets you or is lucky enough to call you their friend walks away a better person. You are my angel, so positive and the bravest person I know. Your feistiness will get you through the toughest challenge you will ever face. I love you from the depth of my heart my sweet sweet angel. PS I just want all Albert’s and Carmen’s friends to know you guys are the best, and to Albert’s family you are amazing!! Thanks to everyone!! I love you all God bless - Jodi!
