Carmen "Lil Mick" Pluma's Blog♥

So the MRI results came back and I am happy to report that there have been no additional strokes or anything like that. Albert said that the main focus now is still getting blood to the brain. As we all know, Carmen has 4 working arteries that are supplying her brain with blood and we also know that Heparin, the strong blood thinning medication, would really help in this effort. The problem with giving her the Heparin is that it might cause too much blood to go to her brain and give Carmen a hemorrhage. Once Carmen gets her blood pressure down and the swelling in her brain continues to subside, she will be in a better position to handle the Heparin. The flip side to this is that if Carmen doesn't get the Heparin, her blood could clot and she could have another stroke. Bert said that they will have to make this decision sometime next week.

As far as visits go and seeing Carmen, they are back on. There is a condition though...Albert asked me to mention to PLEASE not talk or touch Carmen while you're in the room. All the voices and the touching causes Carmen's blood pressure to sky rocket. But please do stop by, and yes, feel free smack Bert around all you want. (Sorry Bert, couldn't help myself!...ha!)

So let's recap what's on the menu for tonight:
Prayers for Carmen...specifically prayers for guidance regarding whether or not to wait to give Carmen the Heparin.
Visits to the hospital and / or kind word comments
Prayers for Albert, Jodi, and the family.

Order up!

Carmen, 33 years ago you entered this world and I knew as soon as I saw your face you were an angel. I knew you belonged to Jesus but it was an honor and a privilege when he let me be your mom. I'm so proud of you. You have grown into a remarkable woman. You are an exotic beauty but your inner beauty is what captivates people. You are kind, generous, loving, and thoughtful. You have an energy that lights up a room when you walk in and anyone who meets you or is lucky enough to call you their friend walks away a better person. You are my angel, so positive and the bravest person I know. Your feistiness will get you through the toughest challenge you will ever face. I love you from the depth of my heart my sweet sweet angel. PS I just want all Albert’s and Carmen’s friends to know you guys are the best, and to Albert’s family you are amazing!! Thanks to everyone!! I love you all God bless - Jodi!
