So how is everyone doing out there?!

Carmen is doing very well as far as her PT is concerned. She continues to make progress and each day has come with it's own little milestone. Like yesterday, Carmen wiggled her toes! Albert and Jodi are amazing too. They remain by Carmen's side and continue to be her positive reinforcement. This is huge because Carmen tends to get frustrated and sad from time to time. Like this morning, she started to say something and the word "yes" came out, only to be followed by a quick "no" in a frustrated tone. At the same time she threw her head down and cried a bit. Bert said Carmen did this because she didn't want to say "yes," she wanted to say something else, but "yes" is the only thing that came out. There is a silver lining here though. The fact that Carmen knows and is aware that she is not saying the word she is thinking AND the fact she is getting frustrated shows GREAT brain activity. It says that our Carmecita is very much in tune with what's going on which is imperative for successful therapy and recovery.

Bert said he has talked to Carmen about everything and she does know what has happened. He reminds her to stay strong every day, to be positive and that he and Jodi and all of us are here for her. And yes, Bert reads the comments you all write to her, so let's all remember to write something to her as often as you can. Once, twice, three times a day....it's all good. Write like crazy.

No word on the Heparin situation yet. I'll keep you all posted on that decision just as soon as I hear something. Pray for Carmen's spirit to stay high, for her PT to continue to go well, and for some guidance on the Heparin decision.

Have a great weekend.

Carmen, 33 years ago you entered this world and I knew as soon as I saw your face you were an angel. I knew you belonged to Jesus but it was an honor and a privilege when he let me be your mom. I'm so proud of you. You have grown into a remarkable woman. You are an exotic beauty but your inner beauty is what captivates people. You are kind, generous, loving, and thoughtful. You have an energy that lights up a room when you walk in and anyone who meets you or is lucky enough to call you their friend walks away a better person. You are my angel, so positive and the bravest person I know. Your feistiness will get you through the toughest challenge you will ever face. I love you from the depth of my heart my sweet sweet angel. PS I just want all Albert’s and Carmen’s friends to know you guys are the best, and to Albert’s family you are amazing!! Thanks to everyone!! I love you all God bless - Jodi!
