Hey friends,

So today wasn't as fantastic as the past two days have been. When Carmen woke up this morning, she couldn't remember very much. She wasn't nearly as agitated and the pronunciation of her words were ok, but her memory had been lost again. Then at around 7 0'clock this evening, Bert said that everything came back and she was doing better. He's trying to figure out why she has these intermissions of memory loss but it could be a million different reasons so it's hard. (He says that it is just like the movie, "50 first dates".)

As far as per PT goes, Carmen has been doing great with her right leg. She is moving it a lot and when the therapists push it so her knee starts to come towards her chest (like a leg press), she pushes back with great resistance. Wow! A week ago, she couldn't even move her right leg. Needless to say, the therapists are VERY pleased.

Jodi and Bert snuck in some Taco Bell this afternoon and Carmen ate some bean and cheese burrito, which she loved...and then Subway tonight. They gave her some pickles which is one of her favorites, so of course she was loving those as well.

The day ended on a good note. Carmen was laughing and trying to sing again tonight. Love that!
And tommorow Carmen will be dressing up like a cat for Halloween! She's gonna look so cute! And I was told that we will be able to post some pictures of out beautiful girl dressed up in her costume! So stay tuned......

We hope that tommorow is a good day for you Carmasita.....We love you to pieces!

Oh...and as far as visitors go, because Carmen seems to being toggling back and forth with her memory, Bert asked that if you had made plans the day before or even just a few hours in advance with him to visit, to please call again right before you come to check with him to see if Carmen is still doing ok.

Carmen, 33 years ago you entered this world and I knew as soon as I saw your face you were an angel. I knew you belonged to Jesus but it was an honor and a privilege when he let me be your mom. I'm so proud of you. You have grown into a remarkable woman. You are an exotic beauty but your inner beauty is what captivates people. You are kind, generous, loving, and thoughtful. You have an energy that lights up a room when you walk in and anyone who meets you or is lucky enough to call you their friend walks away a better person. You are my angel, so positive and the bravest person I know. Your feistiness will get you through the toughest challenge you will ever face. I love you from the depth of my heart my sweet sweet angel. PS I just want all Albert’s and Carmen’s friends to know you guys are the best, and to Albert’s family you are amazing!! Thanks to everyone!! I love you all God bless - Jodi!
